Cestos Mongars are making headways on their return to the topflight of Liberian basketball.
The Mongars booked a place to the grand final of the 2024 Liberia Basketball Association (LBA) First Division Championship beating former Champions,NPA Pythons Back-to-back.
The ‘Cestos boys’ beat the ‘Port Boys’ 84-79 points on Tuesday, August 20,2024 in the second playoffs match at the SKD Basketball Gymnasium.
Mongars trailed by 20 points, but reconsolidated to clinch a thrilling five-point margin victory in overtime.
The first match on Sunday, August 18, 2024 ended 72-68 points.
They will play either Barrolle or LPRC Oilers in the grand final.
The grand final achievement has also landed them a space in the FIBA Africa Zone- 3 next clubs Championship.
