The former Lone Star right full-back was unveiled Thursday as part of FC Fassell’s ambitious project to claim the 2024-2025 season
Solomon Grimes said he is prepared for the pressure on his return to the local league, as a former National Team player.
” I can retrospect when Varmah Kpoto and other former National team players came back home to play in the local league and how they were mocked.
“I am ready for what is ahead, ” Grime said after he was presented by Fassell CEO , Cassell Anthony Kouh Sr. on Thursday at the Club’s office on New Port Street.
Grimes, 36 has not been involved with active football since July 2016, when he left Cypriot side Nea Salamis Famagusta.
The former LISCR FC defender said he is fit and is ready to give his all for FC Fassell.
Grimes started his career with Liberian league side Mighty Barrolle in 2003, spending five years with the ‘Rollers’ before moving on to Liberian top side LISCR FC in 2007.
He joined Greek side Ethnikos Piraeus for the remainder of the 2007 season.
In 2011, Grimes joined Cypriot Club Nea Salamina where he played from 2011-2016 making 130 appearances.
Grimes gained his first call up to the national team against Gambia at the age of 17 in a World Cup Qualification Round, and went on to make 38 appearances for the Lone Star .
