Determine Girls second appearance in the CAF Women’s Champions League finals was held back on Thursday to the disbelief their fans who traveled from Monrovia to Sierra Leone to watch the match. The four times Liberian champions were heated 2-1 by the hosts Mogbewmo Queens, in their third WAFU A CAF Women’s Champions League Qualifiers at the Western Arena in Bo City. Liberia’s first-ever silver and gold medalist Ebony Morrison at the African Championship, Ebony Morrison has qualified for the semifinal of the women’s 100m hurdles. The two-time Olympian and African Champion clinched first place in the repechage heat-2 with a time of 12.82 seconds. Morrison is Liberia’s record holder(12.70) in the 100mH and a member of the national-record-setting 4×100 women’s relay team(42.93). She will hit the track running on Friday, August 9, for the second time in the women’s 100mH semifinal. Lineria Captain, Oscar Dorley scored as Slavia Prague beat Union Saint-Gilloise 3-1. The match was the first leg of the third round of Qualifiers for the 2024-2025 Uefa Champions Prediction. The Federation of International Basketball Association (FIBA) has qualified the country to participate in the 2024 3×3 African Nations Cup. The event is billed to take place in Madagascar beginning November 28 to December 1, 2024 in both male and female categories. Hosts Madagascar, Egypt, Kenya, Uganda, Benin, Morocco, Comoros and Central African Republic are among countries expected to participate. Others are: South Africa, Seychelles, Mauritania, Algeria and Rwanda. This tournament will become Liberia second international competition since the rebranding of the Liberian Basketball. The Press Union of Liberia (PUL) will this Thursday, August 8, open a book of condolence for fallen sports journalist, Trojan Kaizolu. The ceremony which is expected to bring together sports stakeholders and journalists will be held at the Press Union’s Headquarters on Clay Street beginning at 11 am. A renowned sports journalists, Trojan died on Sunday, July 21, at the St. Joseph Catholic Hospital following a brief illness. Liberia failed to win a single match at the FIBA Zone-3 Afrobasket under-18 male and female qualifiers in Abidjan, Ivory Coast. Liberia male U-18 on Friday lost to Nigeria by 82-49 points, having shown some improvement in the first quarter.
