Africa’s fastest man, Joseph Fahnbulleh has qualified for the grand final of the 200M track field event at the 2024 Paris Olympics.
The Liberian sprinter clocked 20.12, finishing second in his heat.
Fahnbulleh will contend for a spot on the medal podium this Thursday, August 8,2024 at 8:30 8:30 pm local time or 6:30 GMT.
This is the second Olympics and and the second 200m final for the Liberian.
In his first Olympics appearance in Tokyo, Japan, Fahnbulleh, 22 reached the final, but missed out on the podium after finishing fourth with a time of 19.84
He won two gold medals for Liberia at the last African senior Championship in Cameroon, winning the 100m and 200m races.
Fahnbulleh will however face a stiff race in a quest to win his country’s first ever Olympics gold medal against American Noah Lyles who is on a path to rare sprint double at Paris 2024.
Lyles is already the Champions of the men’s 100m,
